The Lifestyle Roundup | 2015

2.1.16

I want to start by saying a huge happy new year to each and every one of you, and I hope 2016 brings you everything you hope for and more!

It's safe to say that 2015 has been a year full of many memories, some good and some bad. But overall, this past year has been full of so much happiness, achievement, love, and so much more. So, I thought it would only be fitting to reflect and round up my bests of 2015, the perfect way to send us into the year ahead.

LIFE
I suppose it makes sense that I start with what I've achieved this past year and what I'm proud of. I don't know if many of you will know this, but I love to sing and to perform in general and in early 2015 I gained a distinction in my grade 8 musical theatre singing exam. Meaning I had distinction in both pop and MT singing. As well as that, I gained the part of Sandy in GREASE with my local theatre company, which I'll be performing in March - I'm SO excited.
I also took my AS levels in college in Law, Art, Psychology and English Literature. I achieved ABBC which I'm incredibly happy with and this too sets me in a great stead for my A levels this coming June! In June I also got together with my boyfriend and the last six months have been so lovely, probably my biggest highlight of the year - thanks Reece!

SOCIAL MEDIA
This year has been a whirlwind for my social medias, especially instagram. As many of you know I'm an aspiring make-up artist and I showcase my work over on the old insta: @isabellekategm. This year I surpassed the huge milestone of 30,000 followers. I've been given the opportunity to work with some amazing companies and brands because of this and I'm so so grateful. It's also this year that I got onto the Anastasia Beverly Hills PR list because of my make-up. It was completely out of the blue and unexpected and I felt, and still do feel, so honoured.
And I can't neglect to mention what happened this November - I created www.isabellekategm.co.uk! I'm so happy I finally took the plunge and created a blog, it's always been something I wanted to do and the support I've received already is so amazing and I'm so thankful to each and every one of you who've contributed to that.

TELEVISION
It's safe to say I've watched some blooming amazing TV this year. I'm definitely a binge watcher of programmes, so I manage to get through a lot; there are some major standouts though:

Sons Of Anarchy: I actually finished SOA at the beginning of 2015, however I couldn't not mention it. Sons is an action/drama series based in America revolving around the motorcycle gang, The Sons Of Anarchy. The main character Jax Teller is portrayed by the one and only Charlie Hunnam, and he is so beaut I legitimately fell in love. I didn't know how to feel about the show when I first started watching it as it isn't my typical style, it's definitely quite violent and generally pretty brutal, but even that couldn't stop me as i was won over and it's an incredible series. Plus, there's 7 seasons so it's perfect for a binge watch!

How To Get Away With Murder: I started watching this series in November and I was immediately hooked, it's a series based around a group of law students who're involved in a murder (don't worry, you find this out at the very beginning so I'm not spoiling anything!). It's hard to explain how it's set out, but I was constantly on the edge of my seat and I watched the whole first season in about 3 days. Definitely worth a watch.

American Horror Story: I'm starting to seem a bit morbid with my TV choices now aren't I, but I promise I'm not. I've been a huge fan of AHS since the first murder house series and when I laid eyes on Evan Peters, another beautiful man - there seems to be a recurring theme here, oops! What I love the most about AHS is that each season is a completely different plot, with a completely different set of characters whom are played by the same actors as previous seasons, so there's always something slightly fresh and different to watch. Season 5 'Hotel' is still ongoing and I'm loving it, Lady Gaga is such a great actress and she's definitely becoming a major girl crush. I advise everyone to have a watch, and it's on netflix!

FILM

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2: Oh. My. Lord. That is all I have to say about this film. Its no secret that I'm a huge hunger games fan, I read the books years ago and have been so invested in the series ever since. I've waited so long for the finale and I definitely wasn't disappointed, I don't think I've ever sobbed so much! But honestly, if you're a fan of action films, go and see this film and watch the full series if you haven't already.

I have so many more films that I've discovered this year but they weren't released in 2015, but don't worry as I'm going to do a full blog post in future on my all time favourite films.

This year I've made some great memories with some incredible people. Of course there's been bad parts, but the good really has outweighed all of that and I can't wait to see what's to come in 2016.

What're your 2015 highlights?

  3. Such a great post! I am also a huge fan of How To Get Away With Murder…and I'm desperately trying to come to terms with watching AHS by myself. Part of me loves it and the other part is like, no this is sick and will give me nightmares lol. I'm a huge fan of both Evan Peters and Emma Roberts so I really just watch it for them.

Good luck with you ALevels! YOU GOT THIS! xx
