A Little Update & Going Cruelty Free

Tonight is one of those nights in which I simply can't seem to turn off my thoughts, so I decided it was time for a little impromptu blog post basically updating you on what's been going on in my world.

A huge thing (to me, anyway) that's happened during this past couple of weeks is that I've decided to go cruelty free with my cosmetics. Reason being I feel it's completely unnecessary for makeup brands and many skincare brands to be testing on animals; brands such as MAC have such well established formula's it doesn't seem to me like they need to, yet they still do and that just doesn't sit right with me.
I recently saw Norvina (Anastasia Beverly Hills' daughter) testing their own new products on her arm on her snapchat, she came up in an irritated rash and she spoke about how animals can't tell you when they're in that sort of discomfort or pain, and I just couldn't stop thinking about that - it's so cruel.
Obviously this is a big transition, so initially I'll be starting with my makeup products and then moving on to skincare and haircare. I want to disclose that I'll still be using up any products I already have, but I will no longer be investing my money into companies that aren't cruelty free. I've done my research and I feel like this will be such a good thing for me and my mindset - SAVE THE BABIES! (If anybody wants a blog post roundup of brands that ARE cruelty free then comment on this post, I'd be more than happy to do that!)

In other news, I've been a little bit of a shitty blogger. Yes I've been keeping up to my posting twice a week, but I feel like I've really come to a halt when it comes to my creativity, not to mention my shameful lack of participation in blogger chats. Over the next month I want to really up my game and get myself involved with the blogging community again, it's a great outlet when I'm feeling stressed to be able to discuss things I love. I really want to grow my audience and work super hard on the blogging front this year, the more the merrier right?

I think part of the reason I feel like I've been so MIA with all things blog related is due to A levels, also known as the spawn of satan. Anyone who says that college years are the best of your life is a liar. Socially I admit it's great, but the subjects themselves are so incredibly difficult it really is soul destroying. I start and finish all of my exams in June and I honestly can't wait for it to be over, I don't think I've ever been so stressed - GAH! Hopefully then I can get back into the blogging swing and start feeling more like myself again.

There's been a few other ups and downs during the past couple of months - just like I'm sure you all experience, but I really do love blogging and I can't wait for summer to be able to put my heart and soul into it again.
